Diagnose A Power Loss or Flicker
If you're dealing with power loss, whether whole, partial house, or one room - or has a light that flickers or fades in and out, we recommend having a local Severn, MD electrician come diagnose and fix the issue. It could be a loose wire, a short, rodent, or other pest damage, or a fixture that is at the end of its life. Whatever the problem, it's important to get it sorted as soon as possible - as there is always the potential for a fire when electricity is involved.
Install Dedicated Circuits - Electrical Contractors Near Severn, MD
A dedicated circuit is a separate electrical circuit that provides power to a specific device or appliance in a building. There are several reasons why someone might need a dedicated circuit, including safety, reliability, electrical code compliance, and improved performance.
Safety is a key factor for having a dedicated circuit, as it helps prevent overloading the electrical circuit and reduces the risk of circuit breaker trips or fires. Additionally, a dedicated circuit provides a separate power source for high-powered devices, ensuring that they have a consistent and reliable power source.
Electrical codes in some cases may require certain appliances or devices to have a dedicated circuit, especially for safety-critical devices such as smoke detectors or electrical panels. This helps to ensure that these devices receive a stable power source and function correctly in case of an emergency. Contact us for a quote on the cost to install dedicated circuits to ensure your home's electrical system is safe and efficient. Call us today to have a quote from an electrician near you in Severn!
Bathroom Fans - New Installations & Repair
Bathroom fans are something many of us take for granted, but they are a crucial element in controlling humidity and moisture in your home. Many older homes have restrooms without a fan - we can install a new fan for you. Newer homes may have a fan, but it's not working efficiently - or it's worn out and noisy. Our relatively humid climate makes bathroom exhaust fans a must. Installing bathroom fans is just one of the electrician services we offer near Severn.
Install or Reinstall Ceiling Fans
On a humid summer day, still air is hot air - and the simple act of installing a ceiling fan in your room can help keep you cool on hot summer days, or help circulate your winter heating more efficiently. We install a lot of ceiling fans in new builds and older homes - call us for more information.
Attic Fan Installation in Severn
We install attic fans to regulate the temperature, humidity, and ventilation in your attic. Attics can get extremely hot in the summer, which can cause damage to your roof, and insulation, and make your entire home warmer in general. By installing an attic fan, you can effectively cool down the temperature in your attic and prevent overheating, which can extend the life of your roof and make your home more comfortable.
Additionally, good ventilation in the attic can help prevent moisture buildup due to the muggy days we can experience in Severn during June, July, and August. This can lead to mold and mildew growth. By exhausting hot air out of the attic and drawing in cooler air, an attic fan can help regulate the temperature and prevent moisture buildup, leading to a healthier and more energy-efficient home.

Arrived onsite and the customer showed me the travel charger that was supplied with the car and wanted to get a quote to have an outlet put in so he could use that. I explained why that has shown to have issues with overheating the plug and with the GFCI breaker butting heads with the GFCI protection in the tesla plug, so i ended up writing up pricing to hardwire a tesla charger as well. In the end i was told it was a bit more then he was looking to spend so I emailed him the quotes.
Arrived onsite and she showed us her list of projects starting with the bedroom ceiling fan. The motor went bad so she claimed warranty and got a new one, but the new one was different so i had to swap all the necessary parts to make it one fan. The other one, was that the living room fan is currently a constant hot feed and has no switch and she wanted a switch for it in case she had to turn it off. I rewired that system and got a switch in the gang box in the living room that turns it on and off, and made sure she could still control it with her phone. The other project is to add 9 recess lights in the garage now that it’s being finished, and add a second switch inside the garage as well. So i pulled a 14-3 wire for travelers to the new box i cut into the garage, and then drilled down from the garage attic and fished a wire down for a pre wire for the recess once the painters are done. I capped the wires in the back of the 2 gang inside, and in the box in the garage until we return
Arrived at the home and was shown a home inspection report from the wife and asked to address every issue the home inspector found and make quotes for it all in order of importance or immediacy of safety issues. I went and did a thorough performance and safety assessment , made up quotes accordingly because i found a lot and presented them to her. She just wanted to address the initial wiring issues in the basement bedroom , get the light hung, both switches installed, reinstall the blank plates, and add the bonding at the water heater. I also talked to her about the membership as well and she ended up getting that. Although she didn’t want to move forward without consulting the family and having it explained further, we moved forward with the work above. As we finished the work the son and husband arrived and i walked them through every item on the home inspection report and why and how it would be addressed. Upon opening the electrical panel for my inspection i found the almost
Arrived onsite and was shown around to the various things they had for me from bad 3 ways, to a GFCI on the countertop that wouldn’t reset, the 4 garage lights that they wanted hung,e.t.c. I went and did an inspection on the main electrical panel while the husband was coming home and wrote up a safety assessment which i shared as well, but they insisted on waiting for a bit on those fixes. I troubleshot the 3 way switches and one was broken, and the dimmer location 3 way was not working properly and not wired correctly either. The kitchen GFCI upon inspection was well over 20 years old and just was dead. I discussed what we would have to do to fix everything, i made solutions, and then they made the choice to get the switches, the kitchen GFCI, and the 4 outside lights addressed. I did the 3 way switches while Tyler did the kitchen GFCI, then at the end we cleaned up inside and verified everything was working. Then we went outside and i hung the 2 on the front door and Tyler hung the 2
Arrived onsite and went and took a look at the panels first. He already has surge protection and both panels look great, but one is very full and the other has plenty of room for one, but not two car chargers. I did a full load calculation on the service and found that he is all good to add one, but not both without other means of load shedding. He told me he just wanted to do the one at that point so i measured my wire length out and made a whole path down the bulkhead and around the basement, up into the garage and down the wall to where he wants it to be. Scheduled for November 1st, 2024 at 8:00 am. Arrived onsite and immediately got started with the basement portion in laying all the plastics down, laying out my route and then cutting the first hole and rolling out wire to start. I fished one end into the panel room and had Tyler strap it over to the panel while i fished down the entire bulkhead and got it into the other unfinished area that basks up the garage. Once done i got
