We installed a new TV rated 15 Percepta go underneath the panel and install a 50 amp BRGFCI breaker. We also installed a new 20 amp receptacle next to the panel for the low-voltage equipment and install a new br door function breaker. Work is now ready for inspection
Today’s call was for garage receptacle not working. It was also connected to the outside receptacles that were working as well as the receptacle in the basement. Nothing is ground fault protected, and the wires that connect to the two receptacles that are not working are melted together by a staple inside the home. I showed all of this to the customer however, he declined to proceed with the work. Please see attached solution if you should choose to proceed in the future.
Today’s visit was for working. We took a look at the panel and the receptacles. Michael was out here a couple of years ago and replaced them. They were in good condition. When looking at the panel, we saw that the breaker was tripped. We recommend replacing the arc fault breaker to prevent any further issues because it is very sensitive and the power outage could have possibly caused it to become faulty. Customer decided to move forward with the work. We replaced the breaker and it was working as intended upon our departure. I also recommend replacing the cover plates for your devices to plastic to prevent them from failing quicker than normal. Thank you for being a loyal customer and we will see you in about six months for your annual maintenance check.
Arrived onsite and began by going over the layout and confirming details, and then we began prep. We laid plastic all around the kitchen to protect/ cover everything and then i pulled my laser out and began measuring and laying out the recess for that space, while Tyler removed the old light and prepped a wire to come off of that wire and go to the recess. It was a dead end switch leg setup with the wiring in that ceiling box so we blanked that off, and when i was marking out recess there was also duct work in the way and we wanted to keep it in the kitchen given the open layout. I ran lasers and made my marks before bringing the homeowner down to confirm the layout i ended on to make sure it looked good to him as well. He liked it so i began cutting holes. All of them landed on floor joists so there was a fair amount of notching but otherwise we ran the wiring between the 6 recess, one out of the old ceiling box to a recess as well for power, and blanked off the old light box. We work
BGE is requiring the installation of Two bollards in front of the electrical meter before approving for the work to be completed on their end. We will need to one on either side, in front of the electrical meter to prevent vehicles from striking the electrical equipment. We will have to cut into the asphalt and install the poles with cement bases. They are allowing us to submit images of the competed work, so no additional site visit needed. Quote includes cost of poles, cement bases, patching the blacktop with cold patch.
