Arrived onsite and the resident explained his washer had been tripping the breaker out. I had brendon go up and look at the washer outlet and make sure everything tested good, as well as test continuity on the cord to make sure it wasn’t a bad washer cord. I went to the panel and opened it up and began investigating. We ran several tests from load draw, to trying to figure out how far along in the wash cycle that it was tripping. I found a lack of surge protection in the main panel which i talked to the resident about as well as tested all the dual function breakers and found the washer one wasn’t testing properly and it would trip with nothing hooked up to it, and proved to be a bad breaker. I wrote up a few options and the resident ended up getting the breaker replaced, and whole home surge protection installed to protect everything in the home. At the end we tested and everything is verified working. I believe the washer is tripping the circuit during the drain cycle because in any

Arrived onsite and the resident showed me to the top floor master bathroom where he told me he ordered a bidet, and wants an outlet installed next to the toilet. I checked out the specs of new bidet and it only draws 4 amps at max, so i told him although it can be put on with the existing bathroom line, i still recommend a dedicated circuit. Due to price he asked me to add it off of the existing outlet in the bathroom. I did my performance and safety assessment, checked that the panel had a 20 amp breaker for the bathroom outlet circuit, and in that i found a lack of whole home surge protection as well. I discussed that with him and he didn’t want to get anything but the bidet outlet installed today. He also showed me 2 lights he wanted a quote for, one above the foyer 20+ feet high and another one on the stairs between floors, with 14 ft ceilings. I will be sending the quotes to the resident to get the lighting and surge done, as well as the invoice for today for getting the bidet out

Reason for the call was to install customer supplied exhaust fan. While doing my assessment, I saw that there was no venting to the exhaust fan. The customer showed me the other exhaust fan that should be replaced as well and that one did not have exhaust exiting the home either. Customer opted to move forward with replacing both fans with roof penetration for both. While examining the panel, I observed that there were four multi wire branch circuits that were not on two pole breakers. Please see solution to get this resolved for you as well. Install (2) exhaust fans with roof venting Replace breakers for multi wire branch circuits

Reason for today’s visit with the customer was a burnt up receptacle in the kitchen and two failing devices upstairs. Upon arrival we noticed that the kitchen receptacle had burnt up and failed but it hadn’t burnt back the wires yet. Upstairs one of the boxes was falling into the wall needing correction and the other had a failing face plate leaving it exposed. The customer also requested correction of an outdoor receptacle that had a failed receptacle and a loose box. The panel was in good shape but it was missing surge protection and had neutrals under the same lugs. We recommended a full redevice, a vortex surge protector, and panel corrections. The solution the customer went with today was correction of the upstairs receptacles including the box replacement, the kitchen receptacle being replaced with a GFCI, the outdoor receptacles getting a new bubble cover, and finally a panel corrections service.

Reason for today’s visit with the customer was to quote installation of 7 Recess lights and two pendant lights in the kitchen. Our plan of action would be to take power from the current switch bank that goes to a single tube light and convert it into a four gang switch bank. We would then convert the tube light into two pendants. We would run new switch legs to all three new recess locations and put them on their own respective switches. At the panel we will install an ARC-Fault breaker to meet proper safety standards. Inside the panel we noticed lack of surge protection, two multi-fed circuits on separate breakers, and neutrals and grounds sharing the same lugs. We recommended correction as soon as possible for these safety hazards. The customer stated he would reach back out if he was ready to move forward with the work when it begins over the next couple of months.

Installation of three new devices located between the garage and the bathroom outside of the garage. Currently the status of the GFCI devices are not resetting properly. We would replace these devices with standard duplex with properly pigtailing wires to ensure no power loss. With replacement of devices we would install a new Dual Function breaker to eliminate home owner chasing down a tripped outlet during power loss situations. Installation of new 2-pole 30 amp breaker to eliminate mis-matched Homeline breaker used inside of Bryant Panel. Installation of new smoke/carbon detectors throughout the home to eliminate battery operated units that are outdated. Installation of a whole home surge protector to further assist the home in protection against harmful voltage spikes while protecting sensitive appliances.
