We offer all services in Odenton, but you may be particularly interested in the options below:

Odenton Md Electrical Installations - Haas And SonsLighting & Fixture Installations & Updates
One of the best ways to update your home and bring it forward into “feeling” current is to change out the lighting fixtures.  Along with upgrading the feel of your home, new lighting fixtures can improve energy efficiency, bring brighter light into darker rooms, and improve the overall function and feel of your home.  If you’re looking for an electrician for lighting fixtures in Maryland – our team is on the job and ready to help.

Ceiling Fan Installation
Days with temperature extremes call for a ceiling fan.  The ability to move air around your home can be a big upgrade on a warm or cold day.  A ceiling fan can distribute warm or cooled air around your home, and on a hot and humid day, sitting under the ceiling fan can make those days just a little bit more bearable.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
Electric vehicles are becoming more popular, and the ability to charge your vehicle right at your home is a big bonus when you’ve invested in energy alternative transportation. Our team of highly-rated electricians can help you decide where to place your EV charging station, and advise on the best type of charger for your current electrical situation and vehicle. We can also install the wiring without the unit to make your home EV-ready as an upgrade to your home as you get it ready for sale.

Circuit Panel Upgrades
We can help perform what is called a “Heavy Up” or an upgrade to a 200 amp circuit panel.  This is most often done in older homes or when an appliance is added that puts a strain on your circuit panel and breakers. The classic symptom that may be an indicator that you need an upgrade is frequently tripping breakers.

Dedicated Circuits
Occasionally a home business or fun feature may require a dedicated circuit.  You may want to add a hot tub, or a dedicated circuit for a laundry room or pool house. Whatever the use, our team will help determine the best way to create, wire and operate your dedicated circuit.

Loss of Power
Losing power can be one of the most stressful issues a homeowner can run into.  No power means freezers are thawing, air conditioning or heating may not be working, and laundry isn’t getting done.  A fast, accurate, and effective response from your electrician is important after you’ve confirmed that the power outage isn’t impacting anyone else nearby.

Adding an Outlet
Older homes are notorious for not having enough outlets in a room.  Newer construction is generally built with plenty of opportunities for outlets that serve lamps, appliances, etc.. If you’d like an outlet added or moved near Odenton, our team can help! Give us a call today to schedule an appointment.

Bathroom Exhaust Fan Installation or Upgrade
If you’d like to upgrade your bathroom exhaust fan – or  if you’d like one added where none existed before, our team can come to your home near Odenton, MD and install an exhaust fan for you. We install a variety of models including those that have a fan and a light – most bathrooms could use a bit more lighting in many cases.

Outdoor Lighting
Jazz up your outdoor space and increase security with an outdoor lighting plan executed by our highly rated team of electricians near Odenton. From landscape & patio lighting to motion detection lights and electrical wiring for you cameras and security system – our team does it all.

The reason for todays visit as to provide a solution on installing a new dedicated circuit for a customer supplied EV charger. Today as we arrived, we began inspecting the panel where we saw a 200 amp homeline panel installed in 2002. The panel showed 3 shared neutral circuits with no surge protection. The customer was made aware of the panel health and a solution was provided. I also spoke with the customer on a device that was failing (3 way at top of steps) that caused the lights to begin to flicker in the hall and landing. Customer also stated the lights inside of the dining room were working intermittently and we saw that these devices were back stabbed causing pre-mature power loss. After discussing options and not having the EV charger on site, customer would like to take some time and reflect on todays visit then if deciding to move forward will contact.

Arrived onsite and entered through the second front door, which was the car port that was converted in to a separate addition to the house. Upon arriving i was told that the baseboard heaters don’t come on at all, and they’re controlled by a thermostat on the wall. I opened up both panels where the terminations are on the baseboard heaters and the thermostat, and tested the thermostat which was a variable speed, but was wired incorrectly from the start when they first installed the system, so that only the high setting would work as an on off switch. I confirmed the both turned on at the high setting, and had 240v. They both did, so i began discussing possible solutions to alter the setup but it seems an on off switch is what they wanted in this situation so i put everything back together and turned them on so they could feel them working.

Arrived onsite and he talked to us about his sauna he will be buying and we went over options i could do to get the dedicated circuit to where he wanted. His panel is currently covered by a shelf but we it would be moved before the job. To avoid cutting any drywall we would come out of the back of the panel and pipe all the way up, along the garage banboard, down and around the side of the house until i get to where the outlet will be, then re-enter the house there to feed the dedicated 20 amp 120v receptacle. It will be GFCI protected via the breaker we will install at the panel. I also discussed whole home surge protection with him. He told me he would call in to schedule if they decide tomorrow.

The reason for todays visit with customer was to quote on replacement of two fluorescent tube fixtures along with adding a ceiling light fixture located in the “office”. After meeting the home owner, we began our assessment of the home and the electrical system. The panel i saw was a 2008 Eaton BR 100 amp service with an overhead connection. The panel did not show any signs of hazards besides not having a whole home surge protector and an inter system metallic bonding. After going over the home owners wants, we then addressed how we would replace current fixtures. We recommended on installing two flat panel LEDs to replace current 2 x 4 Fluorescent fixtures along with running a new switch and switch leg for the office area. After viewing the solutions, customer would like some time to address and talk it over, they will reach out if deciding to move forward.

Arrived onsite and began by taking outside photos of the meter and grounding, and then we went through the entire house together to complete the yearly maintenance. I found almost all outlets I came too were backstabbed and some upstairs have been replaced already by her husband. I talked to her about her smoke detectors and she and her husband are already putting in 3 combo nest detectors they are ordering. Upon going from the top of the house to the basement, it became apparent the house needs a re device so she also joined me in counting all the devices throughout the house. When I got to the panel, I opened it up and immediately found 2 double tapped breakers, 1 that was 2 circuits combined, and 1 that was both legs of a branch circuit on one breaker. I explained the issue with that and the fix as well, and found one bad gfci on the kitchen countertop. I wrote up my full assessment and went over it with her, wrote up a quote for the redevice, and a dedicated microwave circuit becau

Today we completed the maintenance assessment. Home was built in 2019 and has a 200 amp br panel. Home has arcfault and ground fault protection in all required locations. Smoke detectors are 2019 BRK series and are working properly. Home had a lower level BR series plug-in surge protector in which we recommended installing a larger Vortx surge protector. Customer decided to go with our recommendation which we installed today. Grounding system at all code requirements, and all the terminals inside. The panel were tightened down properly. All receptacles and switches inside the Home were working and we found no other issues.

customer originally called to have some fans installed in pre wired locations. Home is only a few weeks old and has everything up to code. When i looked in the panel to ensure all the neutrals and connections were tight for safety concerns i noticed there was no surge protection. The neighborhood is still being built and i told the custoemrs about how their house since it is complete is at a risk. So they decided to move forward with the upgrade option. This included me installing 3 ceiling fans in the master bedroom and guest bedrooms and wire a chandelier in the dinning room. I also installed switches in the rooms for the fans. I then installed a whole home surge protector in the main panel and landed it on a 2 pole 50 amp square d qo breaker

Three outside and three in the garage. Customer also has multi wire branch circuits on single pole breakers. These should be on two pole breakers per todays safety and code standards. The reason for today’s visit with customer was a continuously tripping breaker for the garage/outdoor plugs. After arriving i was taken to the garage where i saw a 200 amp Homeline panel installed in 02. The panel had multiple shared neutrals/double taps/ and a shared circuit. After inspecting the panel, i checked the integrity of the exterior outlets where i saw both had water damage/Mulberry flapper style covers that was allowing moisture to set in. After inspecting the outlets i began assessing why the breaker was tripping with the mower. The mower was an electric 12 amp plug in style mower. I plugged it into the garage then into the living room outlets and saw it was still causing a trip. I then plugged it into the washer outlet which was a 20 amp circuit and it caused a trip there as well. After seeing the washer outlet i recommended on GFCI protection due to device being within 6 ft of water. After testing the mower in multiple locations and testing the circuits i made my recomme

The task Matt tackled for us was spread out over four long (for him) days, and he was prompt every day. Matt was very professional and his work ethic is beyond reproach. The work involved relocating a breaker panel, and running a new supply line on the outside of the house.. What I was most impressed by, though, was the fact that out of four electrical contractors we asked for prices, Matt/Haas and Sons was the only one who didn't balk when we asked for a permit to be pulled for the job. I would absolutely recommend Haas and Matt for any electrical work you need to have performed.
