Reason for today’s visit with the customer was correction of a failed ceiling fan pull chain. While there the customer requested us to look at two light switches in the rear guest house. We built up pricing to correct these and the customer agreed. We spliced a new pull chain kit onto the fan fixture and in the guest house we replaced two light switches. One at the bottom of the stair and one at the top. Upon our departure everything was working as intended and the customer was satisfied. We provided quotes for a new fan install with correcting the wiring to the old on as well.
Arrived onsite and the resident showed me an estimate from a plumber to put a new sink sump in for the basement Kitchen. I found the feed and captured the existing line that was pulled for a second sump pump but i had to extend it to the other side of the mechanical room and put it in a new box and have it of a gfci as well. The old location got blanked off when this happened, as well as a whole home surge protector got installed after we discussed it.
Arrived onsite and the resident explained that the foyer chandallier when turned on for even an hour or two will cause the smoke detector to go off right down the split foyer stairs on the ceiling. I opened the gang box that controlled the light and checked those connections, as well as the other locations and they’re all perfectly fine. I went down the stairs and found the smoke detector he was referring to was on the ceiling that was dusty, but also subject to pressure and breezes from the front and back door being opened. After looking over the detector it was 6 years old, but also after blowing on it even, it would go off. I’m thinking it has dust in and around it and when any pressure changes happen in the house it’s going off. But then a few moments later i caught the detector flashing red internally at the defective light and let him know that it was defective. I went through and showed him if he were to replace it himself where i would move it to downstairs so it isn’t subject

Installation worked as planned and with his guidance I was able to activate Ring software quickly. Install was done in an hour. I appreciate prompt service as a club member.
