Replace both switches and put the sink light on the dishwasher circuit instead of the high demand disposal circuit. For today’s visit there was flickering within the sink light. Through investigation the dimmer was improperly installed and carrying a high load from the disposal circuit. We installed 2 new switches.
Ray Garnett was very thorough and provided exceptional service. He looked at everything, discussed his plan, and provided an estimate with 3 alternatives at different price points. He started work the same day after I selected the alternative and provided approval. He needed to order a part and came back out 2 weeks later to finish the installation of the new attic exhaust fan. I tried for more than 2 years to get an estimate to replace the attic exhaust fan with several contractors to include different electricians, roofers, and construction contractors. I met with each of them and they looked at the attic space, but they never gave an estimate or returned a phone call. Haas & Sons Electric Inc. was different. They asked what type of work I wanted to have done when I scheduled the appointment and were flexible to work with my schedule. And when Ray came out he was very knowledgeable and professional and started to do the work the same day. I will definitely use Haas and Sons for my next project and request Ray to do the work.
For this job, we came out to provide an estimate to replace existing flood lights with customer supplied video flood lights. Additionally, the homes electrical panel is original to the 1960s built home and maxed out on spacing as far as circuits, with multiple double tapped circuits. I suggested and estimated a Service Upgrade to bring the homes electrical system up to today’s minimum safety requirements.
The reason for today’s visit was to assess a closet light not working as well as a ceiling fan. First thing we had checked in the house was the first floor closet light leading from the foyer to the family room. The light is controlled by a door jam switch that seems to be completely operational. We then went up to the light, which was a fluorescent 18 inch open bulb style light and found that the light did indeed have power. We then noticed that the bulb itself that was in there was not latched in properly so when we latched it back in the light turned right on. The light is completely operational again. But then went upstairs to the second floor front right bedroom in which customer had stated that the remote and fan was not working. We then went and noticed that the DIP switch setting on the inside of the remote was different to the setting on the receiver in the fan. It would appear that they had accidentally hit the switch when they changed the battery. We then set the switch to t
For this call, I came out to replace a dimmer switch that had gone bad in the dining room. Additionally , there was no whole home surge protection in the main panel, so we suggested the installation of the surge and the customer agreed. Customer enrolled in our VIP Care Plan. Replace dimmer switch in the dining room Replace 3 way switch in dining room Install (1) Whole Home Surge Protector with dedicated breaker in Main Panel
For this job, I came out to diagnose the issue with the disposal not working. I determined the switch has gone bad along with no GFCI protection at the receptacle and a make-shift plug from the disposal to the receptacle. I installed a proper appliance cord along with a GFCI and a new toggle switch to bring the disposal install up to today’s safety standards. Additionally, I replaced (3) customer supplied sconce fixtures on the exterior of the home. Replace single pole switch that controls Disposal receptacle Replace disposal receptacle with GFCI receptacle to bring up to minimum safety standards Install proper appliance cord to disposal Replace (3) exterior sconce lights with customer supplied sconces
It wasnt easy, but they found the neutral wire that was the cause. I also appreciated that they replaced the aged light dimmer in the tree house room. I love Haas & Sons!

Our electrician, Blaine arrived on time and immediately got to work. He listened to my explanation of the issue and diagnosed the problem. He then presented me with a few different solutions and options to consider for future work. I appreciate his considerate approach and friendly demeanor.
