Arrived onsite and was led to a basement bedroom where an arcfault was tripping the circuit breaker from simple stuff such as a phone charger being plugged in. After testing it, i found the breaker to be defective and in need of replacement. I also talked to the resident about whole home surge protection for their main panel because they had none currently, as well as going over our membership. After presenting options he decided to get all the work done, and sign up for the membership again. I replaced the breaker and installed the new surge protection, and now the circuit operates properly.
Today’s visit was for corrections to be made after siding was replaced. The contractor did not have the right covers on and the wiring is not correct. There was also a three-way system in the guest house that needed to be corrected as well. Lastly, there were two fixtures that needed to be installed after the new siding was put on. Arrived onsite and discussed with the height of the ceiling what sized ladder would be needed, as well as she showed us the light she wanted to install in its place. Then the resident showed us to the basement where she had a contractor come in a while back and start but not finish the basement kitchen off. The wiring is mostly in place but all needs to be hooked up, slightly modified, or some things added to be code compliant. Also it’s in an in between stage with the hood fan cabinet where it isn’t hung and the duct isn't cut down through it, the duct is just sitting up in the ceiling. I talked to her about a plan to tackle the basement project and then wrote up a price for the foyer light as well, and then the 2 combined. After showing her the options she wanted to think about it for now so i ended up emailing over the options i had created.
Installation of customer supplied ceiling fan. Currently customer would like new fan install to be hung in the living area. There currently is a switch controlled outlet that would be repurposed to a 3 gang switch bank for light control, fan control, and receptacle. We would remove a channel of sheet rock and replace when job is completed. This solution does not include any drywall repair work or paint work. Listed will be references that we recommend for such repairs. Installation of new AFCI protection for the circuit extension on the ceiling fan install. While inside of the panel, we will also remove all double tapped grounds and neutrals landing each under individual terminals. Quote to install new 200 amp electric system for the home. We will obtain electrical permits and inspection for this project. We will obtain BGE work order and organize their inspection/ work.
